A First Information Report was registered in Bareilly against the former Chairman of the Shia Waqf Council Waseem Rizvi for allegedly hurting Muslim religious sentiments with his request at the Supreme Court who was looking for several Quran verses which he claims that it promotes terrorism.

FIR was registered at the Kotwali police station

An FIR was registered at the Kotwali police station on Monday night after complaints by the secretary of Anjuman Khuddam-e-Rasool Shan Ahmed and an organization known as the Ittihad-e-Millat Board, police said.

Section 295A

This case is registered under Section 295A (deliberate and malicious actions intended to prevent religious feelings from any class by insulting religion or religious beliefs) from IPC, senior superintendent of police (SSP), said Bareilly, said Rohit Singh Sajwan.

Maulana Jawwad told reporters that Waseem Rizvi was part of “Jamaat (group)” who stepped even falsified their own existence and betrayed their own religion.

“He has pampered himself in anti-religious activities, but this time, he has violated all obstacles by lifting the finger on the Quran,” Jawwad said, urging the government to immediately arrest Mr. Rizvi and impose a heavy fine on him.

Dargah-e-aala Hazrat, a prominent Barelvi Muslim Center

In Bareilly, the Mufti Ahsan of Qadri from Dargah-e-aala Hazrat, a prominent Barelvi Muslim Center, has also condemned Rizvi’s move and said even most of the no changes in the holy book is possible.

In a statement, he said, “Waseem Rizvi is the enemy of the Quran and Islam. He did this to collect cheap popularity and to save him from waqf fraud.” Rizvi submitted a pill in the APEX court on Thursday.
